Dr. Grundy grew up in Long Island, New York. He attended undergraduate studies at State University of New York at Stony Brook, Department of Biochemistry and graduated Alpha Epsilon Delta, Regent Scholar. He went on to attend Medical School at State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine and graduated Alpha Omega Alpha-Medical School Honor Society. In 1994, his residency was at Georgetown University Medical Center, Center for Sight, Department of Ophthalmology. In July of 1997, he joined Dr. Bernard Ehrlich at Eye Care and Surgical Center in Laurel, Maryland.
He married in 1993, has four children and resides in Bethesda, MD

Dr. Bernard Ehrlich, M.B.B.S. (Dunelm) was born in the Czech Republic and grew up in England. After completing Medical School at Durham University England in 1957, he went into general medicine in New York. He studied Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania in 1968 and his Ophthalmology residency was at George Washington University, Washington, D.C. in 1968. He opened a private practice in Laurel, Maryland in 1968. He was also a clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology, at G.W. University Hospital from 1968-1990 and Senior attending Ophthalmologist at Washington Hospital center from 1972 to 1992.
He married in 1960 and has three children and seven grandchildren and resides in Silver Spring.
Dr. Ehrlich retired September 30, 2016.
